Cameron is an experienced government affairs professional and lawyer who has developed and advanced legislative and policy campaigns at the state and federal level for more than 15 years. As a Congressional staff member and while working in the private sector, Cameron has demonstrated an ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and bipartisan offices. She has extensive experience mobilizing grassroots advocates and association members. Cameron holds a passion for farm animal welfare and One Health, a collaborative and multi-disciplinary approach to improving human, animal and environmental health.

United States Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison
Legislative Counsel
The Honorable Kay Bailey Hutchison served in the United States Senate for the State of Texas from 1993 to 2013. Cameron was an advisor to her on federal health, education and labor policy, including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, appropriations under the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education bill, and legislation related to the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). She also developed extensive cancer policy and stakeholder expertise from serving as a lead staff member in drafting the 21st Century Cancer ALERT Act and legislation related to cancer clinical trials.
LIVESTRONG Foundation
Director of Government Relations and Program Affairs
The LIVESTRONG Foundation is a non-profit organization that unites, inspires and empowers people affected by cancer. As Director of Government Relations and Program Affairs, Cameron participated in the strategic planning and advancement of the organization’s policy agenda at the federal level. Specifically, she worked with Congress, federal agencies, partner coalitions, and other policymakers on securing funding for cancer services, improving access to care, and strengthening the global fight against cancer. Cameron also led the implementation of new communication and engagement methods for thousands of grassroots advocates.
Texas Hospital Association
Vice President, Federal Affairs, Advocacy & Public Policy
The Texas Hospital Association is the leadership organization and principal advocate for the state's hospitals and health care systems. Cameron was responsible for developing and implementing THA's federal legislative strategy to support more than 450 diverse hospital members across the state. She also provided leadership on a number of issues including hospital Medicare reimbursement, quality based payment reforms, implementation of the state’s Medicaid 1115 waiver, and health information technology.

Veterinary Association for Farm Animal Welfare
Director of External Affairs and Advocacy
The Veterinary Association for Farm Animal Welfare (VAFAW) advocates for animals used in food and fiber production by providing a veterinary perspective grounded in animal welfare and ethics. Cameron is responsible for VAFAW's advocacy efforts, building relationships with stakeholders and policy makers, developing grassroots engagement campaigns, government relations, and association membership management. She is also tasked with advancing the mission through the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies, media relations, and website design.
